The Ohio Council of School Board Attorneys was established in 1976 as an affiliate of the Ohio School Boards Association. The purposes of the Council are to provide a statewide forum on the practical legal problems faced by school attorneys, to promote a closer relationship between school attorneys and their client school board members and to improve legal services available to boards of education through the collection and dissemination of school law information. The major activities of the Council consist of two day-long seminars held annually, one during the Ohio School Boards Association Capital Conference in November and the other in the Spring. Council members also receive the Ohio School Law Summary, a quarterly publication providing summaries of recent court decisions and administrative rulings, and a variety of publications produced by the Ohio School Boards Association.
